Well funnily enough a newly publicized/published company called InYourPocket has been set up to help they blind do just that, InYourPocket has been helping to make these basic things easy for the blind to do with new specially set up mobile devices that use the O2 network on a very cheap tariff so that they are easy accessible for everyone. InYourPocket is a brilliant partner of  Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB) making it a reputable company.
