Learn About Symbian

On first hearing the name Symbian, we guarantee that most of the world’s population would not recognise it, but… Some of Nokia’s biggest smartphones of the day ran on this operating system basically until Nokia then started developing Android and Windows Phones which then overtook Symbian. Symbian when it was first released was one of the best mobile phone operating systems, although it is basically now an unknown.

Symbian is now discontinued but was a great pioneer of the now normal expectation of a mobile operating system, and could well of introduced a lot of the great features on the mobile phone today.

Facebook Messenger

When Facebook Messenger was launched it was just a new Facebook feature, but it has grown a lot since and has become an Instant Messenger (IM) development in its own right but is made better daily with features such as End-To-End Encrypted messaging.

Facebook Messenger also had 1.2 Billion users in 2017, so obviously it’s popular and will probably be used more than the basic SMS services.

Other changes to Facebook Messenger are that it now has its very own website and that you can make HD phone calls.

Although Facebook has made developing errors before, Facebook Messenger is on track.

When YouTube was created in 2005 no one realised just how important it would become, or even or even how big it would become.

YouTube changed the world when it was developed and continues the world today.

If you didn’t know, YouTube is owned by Google which is in no doubt why YouTube is as big as it today.

Some of YouTube’s greatest features is that it allows you to connect with subsribers, and enjoy sharing videos!

Anyone who loves Virtual Reality (VR) knows and has heard of Oculus, the company is one of the VR Giants, but not everyone realises that Oculus is actually owned by Facebook and was acquired by facebook on 25/03/2014, although Oculus had not long since launched a prototype development of its headset, Facebook paid $2 or $3 Billion (There is some confusion as to the price).

Oculus has become the real leader since then, and not a lot of time has passed.

Facebook has made Oculus even better although having never been in the Virtual Reality industry before the acquisition.

Oculus has some great features with some listed below –

  • Head Tracking
  • Display Size of 5.7″
  • HDMI Video Input
  • Resolution of 960 x 1080 for each eye

Oculus is set out to keep developing great VR products for the foreseeable future.

BlackBerry Messenger

When BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) was launched in August 2005 it changed messaging by allowing you to do this using WiFi or Mobile Data rather than sms charges, it was only available on BlackBerry devices right up until 21/10/2013 when it was launched for iOS & Android. It was announced that to use BBM on Android you would need version 4.0+.

When BlackBerry Messenger first launched, to be able to use it you first needed an extra BBM data pack as it didn’t work with normal Mobile Data which would cost you even more but when buying a BlackBerry device on contract it was normally included so that you could use BBM without issue.

As of January 2017 BlackBerry Messenger had 100 Million users worldwide.
